What To Expect When You Visit 
If you are planning to visit Dixon First Baptist Church for the first time, here are a few things that you might like to know.
Where is the church?
Our church is located on Hwy C at the intersection with Pine Street in Dixon. It is across the road from the Dixon City Park. For a detailed map click here.
Where do I park?
Visitor parking spots are located near the main entrance. Handicap parking is available at the main entrance and rear entrance of the building. There is an elevator available at the rear entrance of the church. Our parking lot is large with additional parking available on either side of the building, across Pine Street, and there is a gravel lot behind the church. There is a covered entrance at the rear of the building for drop off and pick-up in bad weather.
How should I dress?
Your dress is an issue of personal taste. We certainly do not have a dress code at Dixon First Baptist Church. On any given Sunday you will see a few people in a tie or a dress, but you will also see lots of people in blue jeans. We are very casual and encourage you to come as you are.
What about my kids?
Small Group Bible Study is available for all ages from 9:00-9:45 a.m.
• Nursery: Located on main sanctuary level. It is in the rear of the building by the elevator. Ages Birth-2 years old. Pagers are provided on request in the event that the nursery needs to contact you during Sunday School or the Church Service.
• Toddlers: Located on main sanctuary level. It is in the rear of the building by the elevator, across from nursery. Ages 3-4 years old.
• Children Kindergarten-5th Grade: Meet in the Children’s wing in the rear of the basement. Classes are separated by age.
• Youth from 6th - 12th grade: Meet in the Youth House, which is a house two doors down from the church. It is right next door to the church's Administrative Offices.
Kids Own Worship is an age-appropriate worship service for children age 3 years old through 3rd Grade. Children stay with parents in the sanctuary for the music portion of the morning worship service. They are dismissed from there to go to the fellowship hall for children’s church. Parents must personally pick up their children after the service.
Is Sunday School for adults too?
Yes, we have small group Bible study for all ages every Sunday morning from 9:00-9:45 a.m. Adult classes are located throughout the church. A church member will be happy to help you find a class that fits you.
Where do I go?
Enter the church through any entrance. There should be someone to greet you at the main entrance door. If not, please ask someone for assistance. Our members would love to help you find where you need to go. The church sanctuary is on the main level of the church.
What can I expect?
At First Baptist Church we are a family. There are many opportunities for worship, fellowship, ministry, and service that will help you grow and strengthen your relationship with Jesus Christ. You will find a warm and friendly atmosphere for you and your family. With a heart for God and people, we live and share the truth in Jesus' name.
We consider our style of worship to be a blend of contemporary praise and traditional hymns. Our praise team/band leads worship through music, multimedia, and live drama. Of course it is all backed by solid, doctrinal preaching and teaching.
When can I meet the Pastor?
The Pastor and his wife, as well as all staff are available after the service. The pastor will meet you at the main entrance on your way out.
The staff is also available Monday-Thursday. They keep regular office hours, but you might call ahead to make sure they will be available when you visit.
